How quickly can you deliver a skip?

We offer same-day and next-day skip delivery across our coverage area. Order before our morning cut-off and we can usually get a skip to you the same working day; otherwise next-day delivery is standard.

We offer flexible hire periods. Tell us roughly how long you need it when you book, and we'll arrange collection to suit — just call or message us when you're ready and we'll come and take it away.

Do I need a permit for my skip?

If the skip sits on your own driveway or private land, no permit is needed. If it has to stand on a public road, a council skip permit is required — and we arrange that on your behalf as part of the booking, so you don't have to deal with the council yourself.

Where should the skip be placed?

Ideally on a firm, level surface such as a driveway, with enough clear space for our lorry to lower and lift it safely. If there's no room off-road, we'll place it on the road under a council permit, complete with any required safety lamps and markings.

How much access space do you need?

Our delivery lorry needs room to pull up alongside the drop spot and operate its arms or chains overhead, so please keep the area clear of parked cars and low branches on the day. If access is tight, let us know when you book and we'll advise on the best size and approach.

What sizes of skip do you offer?

Which skip size do I need?

As a rough guide: a mini skip suits a small garden or DIY tidy-up; a midi skip a bathroom or kitchen strip-out; a 6–8 yard builders' skip most home-improvement jobs; and a maxi skip bulky but lightweight household clearances. If you're unsure, tell us about the job and we'll point you to the right size.

Are your prices inclusive of VAT?

On our skip sizes page you can toggle prices to show figures including or excluding VAT. Whichever you view, the full price — including VAT — is always shown clearly before you confirm and pay.

What can I put in a skip?

Accepted Answer

General household junk, furniture, garden waste, soil, bricks, rubble and most renovation materials are all fine. If you're clearing a mix of materials, just choose the matching waste type when you book.

What can't go in a skip?

Accepted Answer

A few items can't go in a standard skip — including fridges and freezers, tyres, paint and liquids, gas bottles, batteries, electrical items (WEEE) and any hazardous waste such as asbestos. If you're not sure about something, just ask when you book and we'll advise.

Can I put plasterboard in my skip?

Accepted Answer

Plasterboard has to be kept separate from general waste under waste regulations, so it can't go in a mixed skip. We can still take it — just let us know when you book and we'll arrange the right option for it.

Are you a licensed waste carrier?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We're a fully licensed, Environment Agency-registered upper-tier waste carrier operating a permitted recycling facility, and we provide the waste transfer documentation you're legally entitled to. Using a licensed carrier protects you under your household duty of care.

What happens to the waste you collect?

Everything we collect goes back to our recycling plant in Stevenage, where it's sorted and processed. We divert at least 95% of it from landfill — recycling as much as possibly can be recovered.
